Hi
I just downloaded AutoCad so I am very unfamiliar with it but I do need so help witha particular problem. I need to be able to import the airfoil geometry of a NACA 2412 airfoil. I know how to get the XY coordinates but I don't know how to import these points (as a .txt file?) into ACAD. What function would I use? Spline? If so how do I get it to draw all the points I have? I need to then extrude the shape to be able to mill airfoil sections...that part I can figure out....just need to import the points to get a nice curve.
Thanks for any (and quick
) help!

Very easy.
Open that .txt file, highlight the coordinates and CTRL+C
Go to autocad, type in Spline or Pline command, when it prompts for first point, right click and Paste.

Ok, got it to plot a good looking airfoil. Is there a way to scale the airfoil? Right now it is at an inch long, I'd like it to go to 6 inches while keeping the same shape - is this even possible since I input discrete numbers for each point on the curves?

Snap a picture or attach your drawing here, I don't want to lead you the wrong way.

Put texts in the correct format as shown, then command SPLINE, when it prompts for starting point, Paste the texts in.

Hi,
I am in the same situation as the previous post. I have created my airfoil, but I would like to set it to 160 cm, How do I resize the object to scale this new dimension.
I have the image I created in order to understand where I am at currently.
Regards,
JM

Hi again, also, when I try to do to a dimension, I can do it for just about anuthing, but not for a Spline, like the airfoil, How do I manage that also?
Thank you all in advance,
JM
