Why does Canada get the shaft???

We have been trying for 2 days now to download this product, and everytime
(on multiple different machines) we try to download the new product,
internet explorer crashes on us!!! I really wish this company would TEST
NEW FEATURES before rolling them out.

Oh, and just to add insult to injury, we cannot for the life of us find
anywhere on the site that askes if we would like the product shipped to us.
We have sent a couple of emails to the help desk, and low and behold, NOT
ONE RESPONSE! This is getting stupid. We have now lost several hours of
working time, trying to upgrade software that we have PAID FOR, that we
cannot use! How many more people have to complain before this company will
    listen???

    from,
Disgusted with the lack of customer service in Canada!

Here's how it works. If you are a Subscription customer in Canada, South
Korea or the UK, Autodesk will not automatically ship your 2010
product upgrade. However, you can come to the Subscription Center and have
your choice of a download, boxed product or both for free. We are piloting a
new approach to distributing upgrades in Canada, South Korea and UK. Get
your upgrade, your way when you want it. The Subscription Center is your 24
x 7 tool for accessing the products and product extensions you have on
subscription, and yes, it is good for the environment too. If you are
anywhere else in the world we will automatically ship your 2010
product upgrade as we have done in the past, but you will also have access
to a download on the Subscription Center. To learn more visit
subscription.autodesk.com and select the Speed Up. Download promotional box.
How do I know all this? I'm the Project Manager:smileywink:

I don't exactly know what your experience with this is like in Canada, but in the US there is an option with Subscription to order the DVD product.

Personally I'm just as happy with the download, *IF* it worked. But it can't easily get past the office firewall as it's set now. So that is of limited use to me.

Wow, that was quite a rant :smileyhappy:. You will probably get a better response with a calmer approach... The subscription centre has a link for reporting problems and they always respond within 24 hours from my experience (and I have had several problems with the site).

I was able to download the files without a problem and I was able to continue working on other projects during the download so no hours were lost.

See, yet another reason to make Canada a state. Easier access for them to Autodesk - easier access for us to their oil shale . .

Sorry, I need to qualify my post. The downloading is not the problem for
us. The problem is GETTING to the downloading. When we click the link that
says "Download your product software." link, internet explorer does not take
us to the next page. It says that it is thinking, but doesn't go anywhere.
Not only this, but it slows down the computer so much, that in some cases,
we can't even switch from internet to any other program, including the task
manager to shut it down. We have to do a hard shutdown of the computer.

We would just request the discs, but the problem here is that the link to
order the dvd/cd is on the next page that we are trying to access. Now
perhaps this is a problem that ONLY our office/isp is having trouble with.
But that does not explain the issue of no response from AutoDesk
subscription center regarding our emails. I wish I could say that this is
an isolated incident, but it seems that perhaps they just don't like our
office, as we constantly get bad customer service from AutoDesk, if at all,
while others say that they get great service. 13 seats may only be a drop
in their bucket, but it is OUR entire office that it affects, not theirs
(yes, I know we can continue using 2009/8/whatever release until this gets
sorted out, but we're the ones spending the money). Frustrating to no end.
Next step is to call to order the disc (seeing as in Canada they default to
NOT sending it out, as Catherine Wolf explained in her response earlier in
    the thread).

Ha ha. It's always weird for me to realize that ALL of Canada is colder
    than Minnesota...
It's amazing what we complain about here in the southland.

Ah.  Good point, still colder (and wetter)
than most of the rest of the US

I give up on using IE for downloads years ago. I purchased this low
    cost utility http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com. It downloads
several times faster than IE and (if the server allows) it can do a
resume in the event your connection breaks.

    Highly recommended!
