    Navigation bar

Does anyone else have trouble with your navigation bar disappearing? Some times while switching from model to paper space the view cube and navigation bar disappears and may reappear on the next switch. Navbardisplay is set to (1). Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks, all.

    Hello,

There are a few possibilities here that I have seen contribute to this.  Graphics card/driver, graphics settings, UAC (User Account Control) on Windows 7, and problematic Profile and/or Workspace.  These all can be tested easily.

In respect graphics card you will navigate to www.Autodesk.com and verify in “certified hardware” that you have the latest, approved driver version for your configuration.  If you do not, please download.

For hardware settings you can toggle hardware acceleration to see which setting best fits your configuration.  Some PC’s respond well with this on and some prefer it off.  This can be checked/verified by typing in OPTIONS in the command prompt within ACAD.  Then you will navigate to the SYSTEMS tab and then select “Performance Settings”.  The next window you will then select “Manual Tune” and the toggle for this hardware acceleration will be in the top left corner.

To test the UAC, navigate to the control panel and User Accounts, then User Accounts again and then adjust settings.  You will be able to turn this down.

To test your workspace toggle to a different workspace by selecting from the menu at the bottom right (the gear/cog looking icon in the status bar bottom right corner of the UI).  If the problem persists I would suggest switching to a different profile.  To switch profiles you will navigate back to the OPTIONS dialog box and then select the PROFILES tab.  From here you will select a different profile and hit “set current”

Please try these tests to see if the problem is corrected and let us know how it worked out.  Thank you and I hope you have a great weekend.
