Microstation to AutoCAD conversion not 100%

I'm working with a modeling group that mainly uses Microstation.

This causes consternation on the part of the approving agency which requires all dwg files to be 100% AutoCAD.

Though we convert the data we are given from the modeling crew there seems to be a few items that cannot even be purge and/or audited away.

Is there a way to detect these entities, and ultimately have a 100% AutoCAD dwg?

Where is the conversion taking place, MS or AutoCAD?

We are taking the Microstation dgn file and converting to AutoCAD dwg. MS V8i to AutuCAD 2011. Let me rephrase that: are you creating the DWG inside MS, or are you creating the DWG file inside AutoCAD.

The PROGRAM being used is the focus here.

And have you taken the time to do the conversion in the other program, and does it do any better?

Unfortunately these are legacy dwg files, developed by a former employee, however the information I've been given regarding the convcersion is that the native dgn files were brought into AutoCAD and saved as dwg files. Beyond that I'll have to plead ignorance.

    Thanks

Have an MS user do the conversion to DWG instead, and see if the results are 'better': MS remains the better DWG converter since they've had to do it for a very long time and they best understand the MS product.
