A trick I learned is to set my annotative scale to the scale I will use to plot with. Then set my msltscale to 1. This way I get to see the lines as they actually are in both spaces. Have had to create custom line types to get some lines to look how I want.

Post a drawing with the linetypes that give you problems and someone will check it

Here is an example of a drawing that is giving me problems if anyone has time to look at it.

You have to enable linetype generation.

Select the polyline and in the properties palette, change the linetype generation to "enabled"

Or do a polyline edit, look at the command line, and enter Ltype gen.

Your polyline vertices are so close together that the hidden lineype shows as a continuous line.

I'm also not sure how you creted the polylines, are you starting with a metric template and using imperial linetypes?

I had a much better result copying your polyline and pasting it into my imperial template.

    See attached.

Is there a way to set the Ltype gen universally? I’m actually pulling the lines from an engineering software program. For this drawing I wasn’t paying attention and pulled the dxf into an imperial template though it is in meters. Thanks for your help, at least I can get dashed lines now, once I figure out how to set the ltype gen setting.

    Check the PLINEGEN system variable.

0 - generates polylines to start to end with a dash at each vertex

1 - generates linetypes in a continuous pattern around the vertices of a polyline
