AutoCAD 2010/2011/2012 DWG Format

Could someone help select the appropriate software for deisgning an in-ground, outdoor swimming pool. Tutlorials, books, software selection recommendations would be great.

Are you looking for an AutoCAD application or for any CAD-product that helps in your pool-business?

For other CAD-products ==> I think this here is not the best forum to discuss about other products (as this forum here is about AutoCAD 2012).

Right now we contract all our pool building designs, but I would like to learn a more for myself about how to design using CAD tools. Autocad is all I know of so this is really a starrting point for me. I am hoping that someone can point me to the correct tool to use, to start reading about, and finding tutorials on. I realize this is not simple enough to just jump in, but I need to get my feet wet here. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

That's the job for structural engineers, one doesn't fit all for inground pool, wrong water table and that pool will float up like a boat.

Our pool designs are for skate parks (skateboard) no filters, no water, just drains

That's even worst, no water to hold it down

I am not sure if Autocad is what you really need.

It can certainally be done in Autocad but maybe a 3D program might suit you better.

Maybe Revit?

If you truly are desiging the pools, a structural engineer would be of great use.

Also, the structural engineer would need to know something about designing shock-crete.

And like it was mentioned not having water in the pool the walls will have to be designed to hold back the pressure of the dirt behind them.

Not that the water would hold anything back but it does add weight to the structure.

A Civil engineer would need to acess the site specific ground conditions.
