I've recently downloaded a 30-Day Trial Version of AutoCad 2010. I've noticed the Model Space background colour is a Beige compared to the old Black. Would like to know how to change it back to Black?

not sure if the trial has anything to do with it. Otherwise... Options>Display tab>Colors button (mid screen on left)>2D Model space, choose new color>apply and save.

options>drafting pick the "colors.." button on the left side
click it, another box pops up, in the "interface element box", highlight
    "uniform background"
pick color black in the "color" box
    apply & close
