While doing what, and can you repeat it doing the same thing?
    Or is it random?

    Hi,

are you running a certified video card with a certified driver?

You can find the list of certified graphics drivers here:

    http://www.autodesk.com/autocad-graphicscard

(have a look at this comprehensive blog post for more information around AutoCAD graphics driver certification:

Sometimes give error wiles opening files, or jumping between files, or open files with other files opened.

Its an randow error but related with open projects.

    Hi,

you may be running out of memory, since you are running a 32 Bit OS.

To make full use of the system you have (and especially the 8 GB RAM) you may want to consider moving to a 64 Bit OS.

If you need to stay with a 32-Bit OS for some reason, you should consider setting the 3GB switch as described here:

Enabling 3GB switch on Windows Vista™ or Windows 7

    http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS1069947

(But please note that even though it is possible to increase the amount of RAM available to applications on a 32-Bit OS in this way, the recommendation is to use a 64-Bit system rather than tweaking a 32-bit system.)

    Regards

Hi, I too am facing this error and i'm not too sure how to solve it. I heard that it may be because of running as administrator so that the programme has full access to the o/s. I'm trying this now but any other information would be useful

    Hi Nicpapa,

I was able to find your Customer Error Reports in our database. They show that you are running AutoCAD 2008 on Windows 7 which unfortunately is not supported. However, I could also see that an issue related to this particular crash you were experiencing has been addressed in Update 1 for AutoCAD 2010 and in AutoCAD 2011.

To verify this you could download and install the trial version of AutoCAD 2011 from here.

    Best Regards

    Silvia

    Hi Jope00,

I found a crash report in our Customer Error Report database from a user with an email address very similar to your user name, but it was from AutoCAD 2010, not 2011.

This was linked to an issue that was addressed in Update 1 for AutoCAD 2010.

So if you are actually running 2010 and not 2011, please make sure you install Update 1. (Note: Update 2 includes Update 1 so you may want to just install Update 2)

If you are running AutoCAD 2011, could you please try to once more reproduce the crash, send in the error report to Autodesk and enter your user name in the comments field?

Let me know when done, then I will look up the crash report and see what I can find out.

    Best regards

    Silvia
