Hi,
I need urgent help to solve this issue.
I've been working on a Dell Precision T3500 Xeon 6GB DDR3 worksation. Yesterday my machine had a memory upgrade of 2GB, i.e. it has now 8GB.
Although the DIMM is exactly the same as the ones inside, when it comes to ACad to open any dwg file it returns the:
FATAL ERROR: Unhandled e0434f4dh Exception...
I've searching the internet from early morning any similar problem and the apropriate solution but so far I've found nothing.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
>> Yesterday my machine had a memory upgrade
And now it crashes ....
The logical answer, when anything does not work after any changes ... get back to the situation before these changes.
So my first step would be to take the new memory out of the pc and retry my AutoCAD.
If it runs then fine my guess is: these memory-modules have defects.

Actualy this memory module came from an identical machine (which is running) just to test wether or not it would work so we can order it later from our IT department.
So, everything works just fine except AutoCAD.

Hi,

AutoCAD may be the onliest app that uses that amount of memory above 6GB?
Try to change the upper 2GB-banks with the lowest ones.
And also try to run some memory-tests, look into your bios-settings: if available let the boot-process make advanced memory-checks.

Just finished both BIOS tests and memtest also. No errors.
I've also tried to render a movie through Adobe Premiere, which was always above 90% of the physical memory, and all the process went smoothly.
Tried once again to open a large file with ACad and... FATAL ERROR...

And when you take out these new modules does AutoCAD then open these drawings without any problems?

Yes it does.
Just to test the modules I've already tried all possible combinations of 3 modules and everything works just fine.
Put back all 4 modules and the error is back.
BTW, I've got 6 slots, thus I also tested the 4th module on each of the 3 free slots.

Hi,
strange, but good that you did this test!
My next question is: do you have a graphiccard that is using shared memory? Maybe an update of the GC-drivers (or settings, if you find any, not to use shared memory) may help.
And I'm quite sorry that I don't have any more ideas (at the moment), your situation is quite surprising.

No shared memory.
I've just changed the virtual memory settings to custom size (min=max=16GB) and everything "seems" to be ok...
Does this ring any bells?

Hi,
>> Does this ring any bells?
Not really as I think that it should be used less often (less amount) when you have more main memory built in.
