Why is a dwg opening with layers looking all white on one pc but open up with colored layers on another pc?

Whenever i open certain drwings on my laptop the layers show normal colors, but when a client opens up the same drawing, they only see the graphics in white. it does not happen all the time but occassionally it does and it drives people crazy as we cannot find the issue. Thanks for any assistance with this issue.

I responded they way I did because the client needed to give me permission to release this drawing for those in the discussion group to review. What i have since found out that may shed some light is that in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical 2011 it shows up fine, when it is opened in 2012 or 2013 the graphics show up white AND the line weights show up as whatever the default is (LWDEFAULT = 25). 2011 has this set as well but is clean looking in that version.

Tried it with (plane) AutoCAD 2012 and 2013 ==> none of the objects or layers are white, all geometry has it's (visible) line-weight.

May be it's not AutoCAD alone, but only as Electrical-vertical showing this symptoms?

I opened it with 2013 Electrical, no problem. Got to be the graphic card fault.

The attached gif is similar to what shows up when I open the drawing in 2012 or 2013. I opened it both in base AutoCAD and Electrical with the same results. 2011 AutoCAD or Electrical shows it as a clean looking drawing.

I am using the same laptop so the graphics card as another post suggests would apparently be a non-issue unless 2012 and 2013 are needing a heavier duty graphics card. One other thing, it doesn't happen on all drawings in a set, it only happened to a few. It may be a setting in 2011 is being interpreted differenly in 2012 or 2013.

The jpg you attached is the same as what I get on some of the drawings. Most are all white with the line weight of hte graphics showing up extra thick versus having the graphics showing up with all thin lines. It seems that in 2011 is doesn't matter the default line weight or the line weight of the layer, they all turn up nice and clean whereas in 2012 and 2013 the graphics are a lot thicker making for a poor print out. I'm sure it's something really easy and i am just missing it but as they say, two heads are better than one.

Hi,

ok, start _PAGESETUP when you have opened the drawing. Then you will see that you have assigned a plotstyle-table and you have set "show plotstyles".

As long as the system does not find the MOM2006.ctb you will all see in color. But when this CTB is found you see what the CTB converts on display.
