Hi,
I made a 3D box shape in AutoCAD. I would like to draw a line on one of the surfaces of the box and I was wondering how to do this? Also I know you can use the the linear tool under Annotations to display dimensions of 2D lines. But I don't know how to do it so that it that shows the dimension on a vertical axis as shown in the picture below.

Hit F6 key to use DUCS, it will highlight the surface you will be using.
To dimension vertical, you need to rotate the UCS.

Type in UCS, choose X,Y or Z and type in the angle of rotation.

I tried that but it didn't move the text to a vertical position. I'm just trying to have the dimensions of the vertical sides of the box.

Ok I got what you mean. But is there a way to rotate the text from the current position shown below?

The move command moved the entire dimension. I just had to rotate the UCS to the right plane. Thanks for the help.

Do you know how to hide the lines behind the box in the current viewpoint?
