I don't know what it is but my 2011 program crashes a few times a day. My computer is plugged into a battery backup APC PRO 1500 which will kept my computer running in case of a power outage or power surge. But it doesn't prevent my computer from crashing. There are other computers running in the office but they are not effected. One seat is running LT2010 and it never crashes. I've changed the receptacle that my unit is plugged into but it hasn't made a difference. My system has crashed 21 times since the beginning of the year. I'm running Windows 7 with AutoCAD 2011.
Any thoughts?

I'm not clear how a APC power supply would affect one software package on a workstation - I don't think that it's related to your software issue(s). Can you post more information about your installation - service pack, computer's operating system & 32-bit vs 64-bit, installed ram, video card and perhaps it will give more of an idea about cause.

First, thanks Dean for your response.
According to our computer tech the video card does not support hardware acceleration. Is there an accelerator in the program?
Another response came in requesting more info on the system we are running. I'll get that to him and you.
Thanks

Dean,
I turned off AERO and the Classic is running now.
Hopefully that works.
My system:
Windows 7 Op. Sys. 64 Bit Service Pack 1
8 GB Ram
Video Card NVIDIA Quadro 600
Thanks for your help.

I simply want you to change the setting: start 3DCONFIG command, click on the Manual Tune Button, and on the next pop-up way at the top change the setting for ENABLE HARDWARE ACCELERATION. Try it id you repeatedly crash again.
For most, Win7's THEME change is all they need to do.

A question then - would we see any performance increase for AD products across the board if one disables the Aero theme and reverts to "Classic"? Just curious.
