Configuring Web Proxy for Autocad Exchange

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have a user on our domain who recently had Autocad 2012 installed.  When the application starts, it opens a window in the application and attempts to connect to Autocad Exchange, but fails.  This is because we have a web proxy in place on the domain to manage http traffic.  The firewall shows the http traffic being dropped because it is not being directed through the proxy.

There is a tick box to suppress Autocad Exchange starting when the application runs and it is accessible via a normal web browser but as usual, the user knows best and they want it to work from within the application.

Is it possible to configure a web proxy within Autocad 2012 to allow Autocad Exchange to work properly when the application is run.

TIA

Your Windows HELP file should be able to guide you, or your network administrator if it's done at a higher level: Internet Applet in Windows Control Panel for a local setting.

If you need more detailed help, share with everyone your Windows version and network server OS.

Hi,

the following KB article should help you to configure the Proxy so AutoCAD Exchange works fine:

2012: AutoCAD requests to Autodesk servers blocked by proxy servers

Best regards

Hi together,

this does work fine for the Autodesk Exchange but not for connecting to the Autodesk Account, which is also assessable directly in AutoCAD 2012.

Is there also a solution for this?

Best regards from Austria,

Julius

I have the same problem...

Cannot log into my Autodesk account from Revit or AutoCAD

Unable to access AutoCAD WS from AutoCAD

Unable to log into Autodesk Labs Bluestreak

Revit Activity Stream cannot connect

Our IT Dept uses Websense. I strongly suspect some of the sites / servers are on the blocked list.

When I am on my home internet connection I have no issues connecting

How can we resolve this?
