I have a bit of a problem here.
I use a student version of AutoCAD and on school on a very old computer it runs fine. I have bought a special laptop optimized for AutoCAD but it won't work.
I've tried 2012 but it crashed my graphics card, so I tried 2011.
Now whenever I start it up it loads for a second, then shuts down without a crash/error report.
My computer is 64 bit, and i've tried both versions (64 and 32) but the problem doesn't change.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP 1
Intel Core i7-2630!M CPU @ 2.00GHz
Intel HD Graphics Family
If you need any more information about my computer tell me what and where to find it.
So is there anybody that knows a solution? I tried repairing it, problem still there; reinstalling, problem still there; 64 or 32 version, problem stil there;
Thanks in advance

Running as administrator doesn't work, there is no change.
And I have no idea how to disable the anti-virus software, I can find it, but there is no way to shut it off (or I have to deinstall it).
I use AVG for this.
Because 2012 uses net Framewor 4.0 and 2011 uses net Framework 3.5.
Uninstall both 4.0 and 3.5 versions from your laptop.
Reinstall 3.5 (or 3.5 SP1, I think is the latest) download from Microsoft.com
Reinstall your 2011 Autocad.
Somehow my computer find it impossible to install Framework 3.5, so I just installed Framework 4.0 again.
But isn't a new version supposed to be able to do the same things but better?
And I can't find a file called CascadeInfo.cas located in C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoDesk\Adlm or in C:\Program Files\AutoDesk.
I can't even find the Adlm folder... I do have a folder called AldmRes though.

Not in every situation, try to mount a new whell onto a wooden carriage.
You are right that a newer version should do things better, but if a software (in this case AutoAD 2011) is built based on Framework 3.5, it's always better to have exact the version in OS your AutoCAD (or other sw) is built for.

I found mine, on Win7 you can find it in
