AutoCAD 2010/2011/2012 DWG Format

I am currently having issues with my AutoCAD 2012 Civil 3D when I got to start it up.

I select the program and open it, after which my computer begins to flash (the screen) and in the background the page that shows AutoCAD loading is distorted in size (going from big to small and back again), the whole while it is flashing.  By flashing I mean it is alternating between a black blank screen and giving glimpses of my desktop and the AutoCAD load menu.

I then have to do a manual shut down of the computer to get it to quit.

Has anyone else had this issue tied directly to AutoCAD, if so how was it fixed?  Any suggestions on what the issue may be?

If anyone has any help I appreciate it.

Hi,

can you send us your system specs? Especially your os, your gc and your amount of memory.

Did this problem just start?
Or did it show up with the install from day one?

This has not been as issue previously.  I have been operating this program on my computer for near 6 months now, and as of yesterday this was the first time I had any issues.

Occassionally it would lag slightly, but never something like this.

Specs:

Windows XP 2002

Intel Core i3-2100 CPU @3.1GHz

3.09 GHz, 3.16 GB of Ram

167 GB free memory space (232GB total)

I am unsure what the graphics card is for the computer.

I should also add that I can access my other programs on my computer fine, it seems to be tied directly to AutoCAD.

Hi Brandon,

Have there been any configuration changes recently performed on the machine? The most common cause of this could be a graphics adaptor driver update maybe?

It would help if you could post an NFO file of your system:

1. Click start

2. In the search bar enter "msinfo32.exe", then select the first result from the list

3. In the System Information window click File > Save and save your NFO file

Hi Brandon,

If you send me an NFO file we can check what Graphics adapter (and driver) you have and do some troubleshooting from there.

In Windows XP simply run "msinfo32.exe" as you cannot search for it as in W7 as per my instructions in my previous post.

Was able to do some troubleshooting on the drivers for the computer, reinstalled a video driver, all seems to be working well now.  Thank you all for your input.
