AutoCAD 2013 Wish List?

Is there an official place to request features for the next version of AutoCAD?

What I would like to see are center-point grips added to polygonal elements, just as a center grip appears for circles.  An implied center-point grip would be useful too, for instance, for selecting two normal lines and having a center point calculated between the implied geometry area.

Hi,

>> on survey figures .... and

>> Survey Figures in general

I think you are speaking about Civil3D as AutoCAD itself (vanilla) has no feature like survey-figures. Here is the wishlist for AutoCAD, not Civil!

>> I can use the nearest osnap and my line will snap to a vertex on the survey figure several feet away

It depends on what other osnaps you have currently activated. For me the "nearest" and the "parallel" osnaps are not the ones I like to have active all the time. If I need one of them I use them separately (by typing or <Ctrl>-<right-click>) but not in combination with others.

To help the developers to see when this happens it would be great that you send a drawing and a detailed description when this happens exactly. Maybe also a video that shows how it works (or how it does not work) on your system.

I just wish there was full backwards compatability.  So that I could load any of my old models, click Render, go for a coffee, come back and find a rendered image exactly as when I created it in the earlier versions. We've just moved from 2008 to 2012 and its taking days of fiddling to get the results we once had.  We had a similar situation when we moved to 2008. Each time they change the rendering engine it costs us time & money. AutoCAD - we love you but we may have to abandon you - we just cannot keep doing this.
