The fact that PDFs regenerate so slowly makes them inefficient in our environment. If they are bitonal, we convert the PDFs to TIFS and attach the TIF files. If they are multitonal, we convert to JPG and attach. This substantially speeds up regeneration time without a substantial decrease in quality. However, you do get rid of the PDF enhanced functions such as being able to do snap points, but our images are generally reference only type information. Anyways, food for thought.

Well using 32bit with 2012 could well be the problem.
AC is now so power hungry it's mad, and I wouldn't even consider using it on anything less than 64bit.
2011 was bad enough for crashes due to lack of memory, I can't imagine what 2012 is like. I's switch to 64bit and I'd be surprised if the same problem occured, but that's easier said than done!

Actually, one of our IT guys was able to produce the same problem and he has a 64-bit machine. We are thinking it is a bug but who knows.
Thanks for replying.

2012 on 64 bit isn't perfect, and if it's been running for several hours it still uses alot of memory and only clears if you start a new session.
2012 on 32 bit, no thanks!

I agree! However, try to explain to non-engineer, non-CADD upper management that we need higher end machines that are capable of running more than Microsoft Office! I'm sure you've never experienced that <<sarcasm>>. ![]()

Hi,
Are you creating the PDF files with DWG To PDF.pc3?
We could try to reproduce the issue if you send the files.
Please use eTransmit to pack all the needed files, then explain in detail the settings to create the PDF.
Cheers,
Luciane
