Hallo,

Here I have a problem 

I have a xref to a drawing need to add a new version for the xref with different file name, while I change the path the file name on the xref manage keep the old one, Is there any way to change the name over there same as the new one....

If i reattach I have to do alot to fit with viewports

Hi,

if you open your drawing you get now a "missing XRef" message? If so you should have the possibility to show then the new file, hence I don't know if that worked back to 2009,

If none of these XRef-dialog options fit there is a chance to save your drawing as DXF, then open the DXF with an ascii-editor like Notepad+ (at least an editor that can load big files). There you can search for the old path+name and replace against the new one. After saving this load it in AutoCAD and do a _SAVEAS to save it as DWG file.
