when i insert my xref at 0,0,0 it doesnt come in in the right place. i am using a global coordinate system so the xref should come in right into place, my base is set to 0,0,0. anyone have any idea what is wrong?

when your in the reference box, what the "block unit" say (metric). Mine are always unitless

you may just have to open the xref file, save and then attach it to your dwg. Thats what we have
had to to on occasion.

did you try opening the reference and saving then attaching it to your drawing?

you might also look into the INSUNITS command

I am having one of these problems. The original drawing has the 0,0 set correctly, then when I xref it in at 0,0, it inserts somewhere else. The above didn't work.

For these types of issues always check your drawing units and see what your drawings are set to.  You need to know if you are going from inches to feet, meter to feet and so on and son.  Then adjust accordingly when trying to merge drawings.

Try this:

> type BASE

> when prompted for basepoint type 0,0
