scalelist cleanup

I am using Autocad 2008 w/ SP1. I tried to run the Scale List Cleanup Utility downloaded from the Autodesk website.  I got this error message when I ran it: "This application has failed to start because acdb17.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix this problem." I tried to re-install and it did not help.  Why am I getting this message and how can I fix it?

Thank you.

Is the cleanup utility EXE in the correct folder?  I recall it needs to be in a specific folder, same as the AutoCAD EXE file I think (it's been a while...).

Yes, it is in the correct file, the Autocad 2008 file in the Program File Directory

(findfile "acdb17.dll")

Copy the whole line above, then paste to your command line, hit ENTER, that will be the place to put your cleanup lisp

Thank you for  your reply.

I tried what you suggested but could not find the acdb17.dll fileon my computer. in fact that is the error report I receive when trying to rund cleanupscales. I found an acdb17.dll file on the AutoCAD website at

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=7450124&linkID=9240618

However, this seems to be for AutoCAD 2007. Do you know if I can use it for AutoCAD 18?

Hi,

why do you need this utility?

Start command _-SCALELISTEDIT and then option _RESET and that's it .... or am I missing something?

I was able to clean up the scales with the -SCALELIST command. Thank you for your help.
