annotative linetypes?

Now, first of all, I know that the "easy" way out here would be to put my section markers in Paperspace, but that's not an option...

So, having said that: I want my Section-Cut markers (which use dashed-lines) to display the same way no matter what the current viewport scale is. I have made the block annotative so that the text, bubble, etc. scales up and down automatically. It works fabulously, but the linetype for the actual cut-line can't change dynamically. What this looks like in a real-world application is that the distance between the dashes gets smaller as the viewport scale gets smaller. Anyone have any brilliant ideas here?

1 for all three solves a lot of problems for us that are similar to yours.

Hi Saadallah,

Sure, we all need the linetype to have the annotative property!

  • Texts do have this property
  • Hatch does have this property
  • Linetype doesn’!

Attached how the same drawing (containing linetype) look likes in the model and viewport modes!

How to let the linetype to have the annotative property?

Hi,

>> Sure, we all need the linetype to have the annotative property!

The linetypes does not  need an annotative property as they already do their "rescaling" by viewport since the last century.

It's just not named "annotative".

>> How to let the linetype to have the annotative property?

Set PSLTSCALE and MSLTSCALE to 1 and every linetype is like annotative in each viewport even with different scales.

And don't forget to run _REGENALL :smileywink:

Many thanks Alfred! It works like a charm!

All what I wanted to click is the “regen”!

This thread should be indicated as solved

Best
