I have an issue with a drawing created in AutoCad 2002. Whenever I open it to edit it and then either Print or Save it shows Scanning Drawing and takes considerable amount of time for this process. I have done a purge so far but that did not help. Any suggestions?
>> try AUDIT or RECOVER
or run WBLOCK to create a new (cleaned) drawing from your current DWG.
>> scanning drawing?
Yes, I saw that message (long, long ago) in the lower left part of the status bar (where you also see the load-time progress-bar while a file is loading). But at the moment my brain does not get the solution to the awareness.

Thanks for the help/replies. It looks as if the procedure WBLOCK seemed to have solved the problem. I'm curious on why this fixed the problem, what does WBLOCK actually do?

Writes a new header section of the DWG file in current format and inserts the existing objects inside.
Once inside, these objects are also updated to the current format/structure.
Educate yourself by DXFOUT the file and open this newly created file using a ASCII text editor (notepad).
