I am an IT consultant for a couple of different clients. One of my clients uses Autocad on 7 different computers. Each computer is running Autocad 2008. My problems is that one of the computers will not load the correct font for any of their drawings. The font is installed into \windows\fonts but Autocad still wont use it. I even went as far as to copy the entire cad directory and all the directories from docs and settings from a working pc to the nonworking pc.
Anyone have any ideas about anything else I could try?
Thanks in advance,
Autocad can use both true type fonts (TTF) and shape files (SHX). TTF's belong in the windows font directory. If this is a shape file (SHX), you'll need to place it in the Autocad font directory as specified in Options > Files.
Thank you for the quick reply.
The font that isn't showing correctly is a TTF. Sorry I didn't mention that before. Also, the fonts from the working computer were copied to the nonworking machine. As far as I can tell the two installs are now identical.
Unlike SHX fonts, TTF fonts are not just copied they need to be installed (double click, if I remember correctly...). Also, check the computer for a font mapping file that may be redirecting the font in question to read a different one.
