Missing hatch capability after opening certain drawing

Hi,

One computer in our office uses AutoCAD 2007 and after opening some old drawing file, it lost the ability to hatch.

To be exact, the hatch functionality is broken.

I can not select any object to hatch.

Other functionality is fine.

To repair it, I have to reinstall Windows and AutoCAD.

Only reinstalling AutoCAD does not repair the problem.

If that file is opened on another computer with similar Autocad, the AutoCAD on that computer becomes unable to hatch too.

I am totally lost at this.
