Installing/transfering AutoCAD LT 2009 on a new computer

I have just purchased a new computer and want to install my AutoCAD LT 2009 software on the new computer.

How do I install and/or transfer this from my old computer to the new one?

Install it on the new PC, Register/Authorize it like you did back in the day on the old PC, make sure all is working properly, find out what's missing if anything and use the old PC to get anything you want.

When it's all working perfectly, remove LT2009 from the old PC.

OR.. risk losing everything, take a huge gamble with your CAD life and do the 'easy' way but just using the free included transfer utility. Are you feeling lucky?

Hi Dean,

The trouble i am having is that i cannot even install the program on the new computer.  Autodesk sent the original software online, and it is no longer available to me on AutoDesk, the oldest version avalable is 2010..

You can't transfer or install LT2009 without the installation software. Sorry.

You can buy third party tools that claim they do things like that, whip out a credit card and explore them with a Google search. There is a good chance they don't work with AutoCAD.

Or explore buying media for LT2009 from eBay.

Thanks for the response, looks like I just need to just get off my wallet and upgrade.  🙂
