FATAL ERROR: Unhandled e06d7363h Exception at 7c812afbh

Hi all - first I apologize that I am posting about this problem twice but I realized that the other thread with this title (http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-2010/FATAL-ERROR-Unhandled-e06d7363h-Exception-at-7c812afbh/td... was actually in the 2010 forum. So far I have not been able to find any help on this issue with 2008 and the fix from the 2010 thread does not work.

I am having this error when trying to start AutoCAD both from the desktop shortcut and trying to open a preexisting drawing file directly. I'm running it on XP Professional. The regedit changes from the above thread for 2010 have not worked for me.

The problem started first thing this morning. The last action I had completed was publishing to PDF. Since then I had closed AutoCAD and restarted the computer. Thanks for any advice.

I have also tried repairing via Add/Remove and also a complete uninstall and reinstall. I am still having the same issues. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

what happens if you

  • start as administrator and try then AutoCAD
  • disconnect the network-connections and try then AutoCAD

Thanks for the response. I have the same issues when launching AutoCAD as admin and with network connections disabled.

Hi,

can you start AutoCAD and show us a screenshot when the exception dialog raised? Please create a full screenshot that shows the complete area of the AutoCAD application window (including the command-line).

Attached is the screencap. Because the error hits as soon as AutoCAD is launched the command line never fully loads.

Hi,

thank you for the screenshot. If another Windows-login has the same probem I think it's not depending on any user-settings (hoping you didn't transfer any profile info during the test). And that means it's AutoCAD conflicting with some driver or global settings.

A repair-install would be the logical next step ==> goto Windows control panel ==> software ==> double click AutoCAD and do a repair install. Hope that helps!

Just one question before you start that: antivirus-software (or any other defending piece of application) was disabled during tests?

Good luck, - alfred -

I just disabled antivirus and unfortunately saw the same screen. I tried both repair-install and a complete uninstall/reinstall earlier today to no avail. I'm not sure what else I can try...but I am very thankful for your help and quick responses. Hopefully this issue can be resolved soon and if so I will come back with answers in case anyone else googles the error and is directed to these forums like I was.

Did you disable the antivirus when you performed the repair and re-install?

If not, try doing them again with the anti virus turned off.

If that fails, try doing a windows restore and go back to a week before your problems began. I could be an badly behaved update from microsoft that is causing the problem.

Hi,

my ideas get rare now ;(

You wrote that the last you did was to print a file. Have you verified that your printers are working? Have you verified within the PC3-directory that each file could be opened to be modified by double-click (that is just now double-checking, because when you tried another (new) user, the PC3-files would be a fresh copy, so I'm not sure if that makes really sense to check, but at least it's not much time to check).

And I would go to the Windows control-panel ==> software and verify what updates were installed to XP or to any other program within the last period (since you did the last start of AutoCAD that worked ok). If you find any updates installed (may be from the update-automatism) then let us know, which one is it.

Sorry not to have more, but good luck anyway! - alfred -
