Draw order and xrefs

Hi all,

I'm currently trying to make a new template by xrefing items in.

I need to make part of the template xref have an "always sit on top" option, so that any viewport drawn by other people will appear behind the xref.

Is there a simple way of doing this or do I just have to inform people to use the bring to front option on the xref before they issue or print the drawing?

Hi,

>> make part of the template xref have an "always sit on top" option

"part of the XRef" is not an option as a XRef is one object, so in the order of how objects are regenerated/displayed it can only have one position in it. You can't do some XRef-objects behind and others on top of your current drawing-geometry.

>> bring to front option on the xref before they issue or print the drawing?

So that sounds you don't mean "parts of a XRef"?

Anyway, if you want to plot everything on paperspace later then geometry object in viewports you can check the option "Plot paperspace last" in the plot-dialog (if you prepare page-setups you can also do that there).
