Is it possible to create a custom field? One that's not listed.

FIELD>Diesel Expression or Objects, depends on your intent: your post is not
clear

You're right, it's a little unclear. However, I think your answer will help formulate a better question. When creating a field, what is the syntax of a diesel expression I could write that will list xrefs associated with a drawings. I can use Attached Xrefs: $(xrefs,8,,:smileywink: with RTEXT, but when I try that or just $(xrefs,8,,:smileywink: when making a field with diesel, it says that the function is not valid. Any ideas? I really need it as a field.

There are locally defined DIESEL expressions exclusive to
RTEXT; $(getprop), $(xrefs), $(images), & $(getrec).  These are
not evaluated by a regular DIESEL interpreter.

If the field you want relies on those RTEXT expressions.
I can’t remember if you can call LISP from a DIESEL expression or not, but if
you can, you could insert the LISP code to do the
job.

FIELD>Objects Category>Object>... at the Object Type, use the button to
select the Xref is one way.

Re: Custom Field in a Custom Entity?

Hey, is it possible to add custom data (e.g. a simple C++ class/object called Banana) to a custom entity i.e. Monkey which derives from AcDbEntity and is located in a DBX module.

Banana- object holds banana properties like : colour, length, weight e.t.c

Monkey -is an AcDbEntity derived object that displays a drawing of a Monkey holding the banana.
