Autocad LT view alignment

I have a DXF file in Autocad LT which I need to import into a CAD Reader for a CNC machine. The cad reader can only view a 2D image of the TOP of the part. The problem is that the view I want the cad reader to see is the RIGHT hand side  view in Autocad. Is it possible to reassign the views in Autocad LT 2008 so that the right hand side view become the top view therefore allowing the cad reader to see the correct side.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

I tried with full version without any 3d commands and it works, so you can try this:

In your original drawing, view the side you wanted to become plan for the CNC machine, type in UCS, then type in F (for Face) , select the object.

After this use CTRL+C (for copy) and select the object.

Start a new drawing, leave its UCS as Plan, use CTRL+V (for Paste)

Let me know if it works for you.

Thanks for replying. That doesn't work. It says 'No solids detected'. I guess this is because I just have a line drawing and not a solid object?

Maybe, list it and see what it said.

Attach your drawing here, let see if we can find a way.

Specify origin of UCS or [Face/NAmed/OBject/Previous/View/World/X/Y/Z/ZAxis]
<World>: f
Select face of solid object:
A 3D solid must be selected.
No solids detected.

I will see if I can attach the file if you think that is the easiest way.

A bit late in the day but if you are still looking. It doesn't show up in the options listed but you can tell the UCS to change to TOP, BOTTOM, FRONT, BACK, LEFT, RIGHT

Specify origin of UCS or [Face/NAmed/OBject/Previous/View/World/X/Y/Z/ZAxis]
<World>:right

Then copy and paste as mentioned earlier
