Autocad 2007 on iMac running Windows Vista

I work at an office that has AutoCAD 2007 on Macs running Windows Vista via Bootcamp.  We are experiencing a variety of problems, but the most nagging is when AutoCAD drops its activation after about a week or so.  I am told by a representative that this is due to the fact that AutoCAD 2007 was not designed for Vista and that we should be running a virtual version of Windows XP, from our Vista software.  Does anyone have any insights regarding this problem?  We are a small office that cannot afford to upgrade, right now, unfortunately.
