I remember learning a simple command prompt for this a few years ago, but I've forgotten what it is.
I have a few files where someone has zoomed in on the viewports, so the boundary can't be seen, and then doubled clicked inside, so when you zoom or pan it changes the viewport. How can I get back to the paperspace layout?

Click the button at the bottom that says Model. Or type PS or PSPACE > enter

when in paperspace, you know how you double click in the viewport to pan, or change the scale, and then double click outside of the viewport to continue with the rest of the layout, i can't do this because someone has zoomed in too far on the viewport, and double clicked inside of it. i can't see the rest of the layout, and can't get out of that viewport because i can't see the boundaries.

I figured it out.
Just incase anyone else has this problem, if you lock the viewport you can zoom and and see the rest of the page.
thanks to those who read half my question and posted their answer. kudos.
