Is there a way to resize the viewports in modelspace? They seem to automatically divide screen space in 50% units...
thnx

No. That's the way it works. It can be made more complicated by further
dividing those viewports in to half again or maybe in thirds. But there is
no way to easily resize them.

Modelspace can only contain tiled viewport configurations. They cannot be
resized. Their edges need to touch. That is why paperspace was invented;
to provide flexible viewports.

The closest thing to resizing viewports in model space is to join adjacent viewports. For example lets say you have 3 vertical viewports shown and want to have one skinny viewport and one bigger one. Go to View/Viewports/Join. ACAD then asks you to choose a dominant viewport (which is the viewport you want to continue viewing) and then you are asked to pick a viewport to join. Once done, you have 2 viewports of different sizes. I do this same method all the time.
Hope this helps.
