Printing is blurred lineweights too big

    Amateur AutoCad needs some help

I have a DWG file that i'm trying to print A3. When i print preview it goes from looking great in the 'layout' screen but the preview is as if all the lines/drwaing text have been expanded

I can print out other DWG files no problem. Just have (3) files from the same client that do the same thing

We have these files and have just edited some things on them such as removing objects / lines etc so modifed to our needs. nothing really big

Can anyone help and point me in the right direction please. I would be most appreciated

I have made a summary of what i have tried

    •  tried a different printer
    •  tried different size papers A1-A4
    •  fit to paper
    •  scale lineweights in print options (even bigger)
    •  scaling in printer settings

The only way i get the drawing to look properly on the printer is to zoom in. Obviously then that would mean me getting a 1/10th of the drawing onto a sheet of A4. I could suppose do that and sellotape them all together.... LOL

I have attached a shot of the layout and a shot of the print preview

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Hi,

go to the layout and start the plot-dialog, now check the setting "scsle lineweight". If it's on ==> turn it off and try to plot once more. (>>>details<<<)

    Good luck, - alfred -

How are lineweights achieved? Note the command line repeats LINEWEIGHT, that's the issue most likely, they are set to thick.

Plotting to what in the screenshots? Using what driver? use a PC3 file too?

Not sure how lineweights were achieved. This is a Drawing supplied by a thrird party. Our only involmement with it was to remove(erase) some information and then re-print it for our own records

Plotting - I'm only printing A3 so to a A3 printer. Doesn't matter what i choose even pdf.pc3 it is all the same

    Go into modelspace.

    Select everything.

    Start PROPERTIES command

LINEWEIGHT category towards the top, change it to 0.00

    QSAVE your drawing.

If you still get linewights, then youo need to edit the plot style tables to fix it: that's on your PLOT pop-up, help yourself.
