Hi everyone,
I am having trouble inserting a multi page word doc into my autocad drawing, for some reason the first page only shows up, is there a way to make all the pages show up?
Thanks,

The way we do it is save the document as a rich text format (rtf) in word. Then in Autocad run the MTEXT command. Specify an area that the document will fit into then the mtext editor becomes active.
While in the MTEXT editor right click and select "import text". Browse to the "rtf" file you created and it will insert it. You can make it multiple columns and all your formatting should be the same as in word.

Solution!
In Microsoft Word, select the whole first page, then edit-->copy.
Then in AutoCAD, go to edit-->Paste Special
Under the Paste Special dialog box, be sure to check the "Paste Link" option and that Microsoft Word Document is highlighted. Click OK, then insert where desired!
You will have to repeat the process for the second page, third page, and so on--- but it is now an OLE Object and when edited it will update automatically.

I Googled for an answer to this issue and found this thread. Taramitchell's idea sounds great, but unfortunately doesn't work for me because the Word document I am referencing has many style-based indents and numberings (like for specs), and for some reason rather than showing up as they are in the .doc, they reset to 1, a, i etc. on every newly linked page (see attachment). Bummer
If anyone knows a (free) method which would preserve the indent numberings I would be extremely grateful. Otherwise I may have to purchase the product mentioned above, as updating for modifications page-by-page would be extremely tedious.

PDSF,
I have the same issue. It is specs froma word document with numbering and it is screwing up the numbering. Did you ever find a solution? I don't want to have to type 15 pages of specs.

I didn't, sorry. We did the extremely primitive method of exporting to .jpg and linking those. We had to re-export a few times over the life of the project. If anyone has a better solution I'd still be interested.

OLE has a one-page limit: if you need OLE, buy an add-on like the one from dotsoft.com
If you don't need OLE, for pete's sake don't do the JPG method outlined above, just copy/paste from MSWord to an open MTEXT object and a few other options noted above your post. No one has had to retype text in since we all got out fo the DOS dark ages.

Even if that worked from a formatting standpoint, it doesn't work across multiple sheets. We are talking about sizable Word documents here with complex formatting. It takes 3 - 30x42 sheets to contain it all.
