I'd like to know how to effectively search Help. I put "Retain Changes to Xref Layers" in the search box and received 4 responses, none of which contained this exact phrase. After some digging I found that this phrase does appear in Help on this page:
IV Pro 2011 64bit SP2; Win7 Ultimate SP1
ASUS MB Intel i5-3450 @ 3.10 GHz, 8GB RAM
ATI AMD Radeon HD 6600 Series, 1GB RAM

Hi,
try that: >>>click<<<
Is in most cases the better option to find informations about help by phrase-searching.
The search in CHM can't be that strong as the built in search functionality does not support that (searching by phrases).

So, using an external search engine (such as google) with the advanced search option to search a phrase in the on-line help works well. The search field ends up looking like:
site:autodesk.com "Retain Changes to Xref Layers" Thanks.
