How can i add a new template by not manually typing the location of the template in the command line.?

usually i add a new template by right clicking in the model tab then click the new template then it will show a dialog box which it will look for the template in my computer but now when i right click at the model tab and click new template it goes into the command line and you have to type the location of the template (c:/desktop/newfolder/template.dwt) just like that.. can some one help me with autocad please...i did nothing on the settings.. please help me

If you do the right-click and then "new layout" ==> you don't get any question or dialog, you get a new empty layout added to your existing ones.

If you try to add a layout from a template (not just "new layout") then you are asked for the fie to get the layout from.

And for getting the filedialog instead of typing the full path into the command-line you should set FILEDIA to 1 (>>>details<<<).

BTW: if you save or open a drawing, did you get the file-dialog then?
