    Help with Mtext glitch

    My office has been running into an interesting glitch with MText.  We have a standard text setup when anyone starts a new drawing using our standard templates.  For some reason, the first time you use Mtext, the result is not our standard.  If you use Mtext again, it then will look like our standard.  The weird part is that the settings are identical when you look at the properties.  The only difference is that the first Mtext under "content" of the properties, look like this:

    {\W1; text}

    This is not the case when you use Mtext again.  It only shows "text".  It only happens the first time you use Mtext after opening a file.  I've attached a PDF of what it looks like.  A is the non-standard first time Mtext.  B is the standard, second time Mtext.

    Any ideas?  Is this something that can be fixed?

    Please use plain text.

    That glitch plagued 2008 and 2009: ensure your version is fully patched and updated.

    If you can post an actual DWG someone might have more tips.
