A while back I wrote about a problem with Design Center not displaying favorites that I created within Design Center. I thought it was working but it doesn't. Sometimes they show but most of the time they don't. Has anyone ever run into this?
Its driving me nuts!
Yes I did place a trouble call to Autodesk support and they inform me it is a known problem and it is being worked on. I'm hoping there is another poor soul out there that has solved this problem.

OK ... I'm just thinkin' off the top of my head here, but it sounds like if you have a large network maybe the network connections time out from lack of use. They used to do that to me at Intel if it was 5 mins between DC accesses. They are BW pinching bums . ;-)
But I digress ...
Maybe try mapping a drive thru Windows to force the connection and then browsing to that mapped drive in DC. I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing it yet.
Better yet, get yer IT people to open up the pipe.
Good luck
Regards,
DJ

Our network is small, we are set up to service 40 stations but only 30 or so are active at any one time. I did try mapping the 'favorite' thru windows with the same results.
Mapping local folders is not a problem. I tried opening the properties in one of the local "favorite" and gave it a search path on our net work. When I opened DS that favorite was no longer visable.
Thanks for tryin DJ, I'll have to try our IT guy and see what he can come up with.

Still exists in AutoCAD 2011. My my guess is either file-path length or it just doesn't like network mapped drives.
... Try using the UNC path instead of the mapped drive letter. It seems to work...sometimes .. Good luck

Interesting. I've been struggling with this for several months with 2010 and 2011. Yesterday I removed Computer Associates "Total Defense" anti virus software and firewall. Today, when I logged on all my network shorcuts showed up again in Design Center. Coincidence?

I have tested both AutoCAD 2011 and 2013. If I use a network path assigned to a drive letter it works. If I use an UNC path it will fail.
