AutoCAD 2007/2008/2009 DWG Format

I've been getting files that have been converted into DWG format. I'm having problems with them. I think they are DGN files. Does anyone know of an add on that will help correct this.

I'm having problems with them.......what type of problems?

I think they are DGN files.......by default AutoCAD usually pops up a warning dialogue box when you open a non Autodesk created DWG file saying the file was created by non Autodesk software and wshing their hands of all responsibility, is this happening for you?

They crash my Layer Manager, Blocks have text reversed and I can't edit globally, just to name a couple...
