Hi,
I have a problem in viewing AutoCAD DWG files in MS SharePoint (WSS). I'm using AutoCAD 2007, Windows XP, WSS 2.0 and IE 6.0. Some computer can work, but some others cannot. SharePoint is just a place to keep documents such as MS Office, PDF or DWG.
There were few times I did solve this problem in few computers. What happened is that when I double-click on DWG file, it prompts me white blank page. What I did to solve is that I log out and log in as local admin. Then I double click on AutoCAD icon and wait until it open perfectly.
Log out and login as normal user, go to Sharepoint and launch DWG file. It works fine for that PC only. But when I try to do the same to other computers, they won't work. What's wrong with me?
Will appreciate whoever can share some thoughts..Thanks

I think that is what AutoDesk's Vault does. You seem to have a problem with MS SharePoint. I assume that the one PC where it works is also the host server.....
I suggest you obtain MS Sharepoint support. Just remember that the folder where the DWG is saved, AutoCAD needs to have permission to write to that folder, also.

I had been having the same problem. I found out what it is. Do you Have DWG TrueView installed? If so then this is the culprit. Uninstall it and then SharePoint will give you the option to "Open, Save, or Cancel." Then you'll have to set the MIME Types correctly in IIS on the SharePoint server so that the file type is passed correctly from the server. (You may have to set the file type on your computer also, jsut FYI.) I hope this helps. It's taken me a week of solid troubleshooting to find out why this wasn't working. Apparently the DWGVIEWRCtrl ActiveX control tries to load the drawing as though it were a web page. This of course doesn't work.
