I have been working with AutoCad 2008 by remote for the last year. The main computer in the office has fried, and can only be operated in safe mode. Is there any way to move the AutoCad and license to the laptop that I've been using? The office cannot find the original installation disk.

You may be out of luck in regards to moving the actual install of ACAD.
There is a licence manager that will export the licence and allow you to import the licence into your laptop, but you will need the original disks to do the install.
ACAD makes quite a few changes to the registary when installing as well as placing files in the user's directory and other locations that are not in the ACAD directory...
