Hi all.  I am new to autocad.  I am the TD of a major convention center and I am looking to create a current steel plot for rigging purposes.  Can anyone give me a basic start guide to accomplish this.  I will gratly appreciate it.  Thanks in advance, alk

Scan or convert PDF to TIFF, use it as image to draw on top of it in Autocad.

2006 can not handle PDF files.

Do they not have an engineering/maintenance department where building/sprinkler plans etc are kept?

If by some odd chance my nattering was useful -- that's great, glad to help. But if it actually solved your issue, then please mark my solution as accepted :smileyhappy:
