.PDF Export....???

That's certainly going to confuse the whole .DWF/Viewer/Composer marketing
plan....don't you think...???

Cheers.

PDF??? That problem was solved and beaten to death many
versions back, where you been :smileyhappy:

Being able to finally attach DWFs as overlays and use them
in AutoCAD (think no longer having to send dwg files as
backgrounds for consultants your client finds from who knows
where) is the best thing in 2007.

The new commands for that are:

DWFATTACH
Displays the Select DWF File dialog box followed by the
Attach DWF Underlay dialog box.

DWFCLIP
Lets you set and adjust clipping boundaries to define
subregions of a DWF underlay.

DWFADJUST
Adjusts the display properties of a DWF underlay.

Now wait and see what all the DWF concepts presented at AU
last year can do and hopefully DWF will finally be a totally
useful format beyond 'electronic paper' printouts.

I'm thrilled to see native PDF support in AutoCAD.
Means I can customize PDF output without the need
of 3rd party applications, free or otherwise.

I take it you don't use PDF outside of AutoCAD like the rest
of us do everywhere for everything.
In which case, DWF is for you since you only use the one app
and always has been, and even more useful now since your
recipients can actually use it in AutoCAD.

We generate PDF's for the ease of printing our files
at various print shops around here, that is about it.

While cutePDF works, it is a huge hassle to manually
print an entire set of construction documents to PDF.

It will be interesting to see how widely DWF is used.

Not much there for a machine designer, plus, I use AcroPlot Pro to make pdf's.

"CUI functionality has been updated enabling you to drag and drop from the
command list onto tool palettes. Additionally, a new Double Click Actions
node has been added to the CUI enabling you to customize the double-click
behavior of objects. For example, by default, if you double-click on a line
object, AutoCAD opens the Properties window. Maybe you rarely edit line
properties but you often copy lines. You can change the double-click
behavior so that each time you double-click on a line, AutoCAD launches the
COPY command. A new control on the User Preferences tab of the Options
dialog box enables you to toggle double-click editing on and off."

CAUTION:
Editing a .cui in 2007 will cause it to be read-only in 2006! Not exactly
an improvement. You can use the transfer tab to translate stuff back to
2006.
