DWF converted to DWG

I am trying to figure out how to convert some dwf files back to dwg files I received from a contractor for an architectural job. Is there a way to convert the files back without it exploding everything inside the drawing and setting everything to layer "0"?

I would appreciate any help from anyone who has dealt with this type of thing before. Thanks.

Ask the contractor for the dwg or upgrade to 07 where you can attach dwf
files.

You are trying to reverse-engineer a DWF, or trying to stop
someone from doing so?

Open the DWF
Copy to the clipboard
Paste Special in AutoCAD
Choose AutoCAD Entities

they are in a non-editable form for a reason. if you change an engineers dwg after it has been approved and stamped you are breaking the contract and you will be 100% liable. your dwgs and their record will not match will not match.
have you ever heard of a little word called FRAUD?

it sounds to me like they are trying to change a drwaing that has already been appoved by an engineer.

this drawing is a pharmacy store that the owner sent us their copies of their typical floorplans, elevations, etc. And they want to make it a little different, so I'm looking to put it into CAD format and make the changes . The elevations are only going to be changed, not the actual floorplan.
