I created details and made them tifs (so they couldn't be changed by
people).
One of my users inserted the details as raster images on a drawing. He
saved the drawing and closed it for the night. The next day,
he opened that drawing and the tif images had disappeared. The only
things that were left of the tifs were the outlines and names of them.
Yet other people don't have this problem.
Has anyone experienced this type of problem and/or know how to solve this?
I have attached the before and after pictures.
Thanks in advance.

- open image manager from Insert menu.
- select you images and click browse to locate the images.
remember:
- raster images are just like xrefs, they should be moved with the file wherever it goes.
- etransmit is a useful tool to handle sending or moving dwgs containing reaster images.
- changing the path of raster images to relative and keeping them in the same folder of the dwg is a good idea too.
- may be trying OLE can make you abondond the idea of inserting raster images.
reagrds.

I am having a similar problem.
I design irrigation systems. and I download an aerial image of the farm plan and I place it under the GPS capture of the farm, this aids us with things that the GPS capture doesnt show. I have inserted the image with full path and with relative path, and also as both, but in it's own layer, and 9 / 10 I have to re insert the image when I open the file up again. I've even locked the layer once the image is in place but still it wanders away All my files are saved locally, so there is no moving them around.
Can anyone suggest a work around this so it doesnt happen?
Cheers
Steve

its a pathing thing..like xreffing...
if the drawing is not hard-pathed you need to reload it by means of xref dialogue box....(even if its an image)
or if not...
and you use the 'PROJECTNAME' system variable ......you need to go to the options dialogue box ..Project Files Search Path..and browse to establish a path.
