AutoCAD 2004/2005/2006 DWG Format

Has anyone ever got DWG Trueconvert to convert a 2007 dwg to 2006(2004/5/6) format? Is it supposed to? From my reading of the description it should, but there's no documentation to go with it that I could find.

It's NEVER worked for me and now it's getting more urgent.

Ha! Autodesk's own spellchecker suggests I may like to use Truelove instead of Trueconvert.

It works perfectly for us - no failures yet.

What exactly is or isn't happening?

There is no 2006 or 2005 format. They both use the 2004 format. In Trueconvert there is a drop-down list at the bottom left that says Convert To. From it you can select 2007, 2004, 2000 or R14.

2007=2007 format
2004-2005-2006=2004 format
2000-2000i-2002=2000 format
14=14 format
13=13 format
and so on... .

If you have to use true convert to open a 2006 dwg from 2007 why have the option of saving it as a 2004 drawing type?

Just nothing happens.
I would like to convert a 2007 file so that I can open it in 2006. I open trueconvert, click on 'add', browse to the file, select 'convert to 2004', click convert, and I get "current format - unknown" and "status - read error".
I tried trueconvert maybe 4 months ago for the first time and it didn't work then. I tried again last week and got the same errors as above. It looked like maybe it couldn't do 2007 files so I downloaded it again from the Autodesk site and tried again, and that's where I am at right now.

You may need to recover the drawing before trying to convert.

Looking at your picture, it looks like you're using the older truconvert. This is why it doesn't recognize the 2007 format. Did you uninstall the old version before installing the one released after 2007 came out? You might try that. HTH. Ron
