I am extracting data with dataextraction. I can get the information from the drawing and I can see it in the preview. When I click finish and open the Excel file nothing is there. Anyone else have this problem?

Did you specify a location and file name? File format?

Yes, I did and the Excel sheet was created but all it said was "Delete Me". I finally saved it as a *.csv file and it worked.

Yes, that was in cell A1. Just "Delete Me". The remainder of the sheet was blank. I am wondering if data extraction in AutoCAD 2010 does not work with Excel 2003 for some reason. I have never had this problem before.

i'm having this exact same problem.
did you ever find out what the cause was?
i did the same type of data extraction the other day, on another project and it worked fine. so i'm guessing there is something wrong with my files...
i'm using acad '10 and excel '07

I saved it as a *.csv file instead of *.xls and it worked. Do not know why but it worked and I was able to open it in Excel and save it to *.xls.

i'll try that.
i did get it to work last week directly to an .xls file.
but i had to use acad 2009 to do it...
makes it even stranger.

I am having this same issue using ACAD 2011. Works fine using 2010 and I have tried it on other machines that have acad 2011 and it works but for some reason, on my machine, all I get is the 'DeleteMe in cell A1 of the output file. I have tried it using drawings from my local drive and the network and still the same results. HELP!
