    Transparent hatch

I have objects in Autocad 2004 that consists of splines and lines that are
hatched with a solid fill. I want these hatches transparent. As I see it
there is two ways to do it, either in Autocad somehow or I export the
drawing to, for example, CorelDraw and do the fills of colour there. But the
exporting to Corel does not work. Even when the objects are created as
regions in Autocad the lines and splines are not joined in Corel and to
manually join every line in Corel will take months (the lines and splines
have to be joined to be able to fill the object with a colour). I have tried
to export as DXF, DWG, WMF, PS and print to file, nothing works.

So to simplify the question, how do I fill outlines in Autocad and make the
    fills transparent?

I've heard of 3rd party applications that work with AutoCAD for this
purpose. I believe somwhere in this NG you will find a link, although I'm
    not sure where.

    See http://www.motivesys.com/

Their M-Color application allows for transparent fills.

If it's in model space, send it to back. If it's in paper space, make sure
you don't have paper space plotting last (option in the plot dialog).

    Maybe I should have clarified:

In model space, send your solid file to back using the draworder command.

Just guessing, but try using an Image or SuperHatch (from Express Tools),
then make them transparent. They can simply be solid colors. If you use an
Image, you can clip it with your splines. I haven't tried it, but it just
    might work.
