AutoCAD 2004/2005/2006 DWG Format

This problem just started ... not sure what triggered it. When I try to use textmask and use the mask type "wipeout" it comes back saying 'wipeout.arx not found'. I go into Appload and wipeout.arx is listed as already loaded. I've tried unloading and reloading wipeout.arx and it always comes back saying wipeout.arx loaded successfully. Are there any other settings or files that have to be used? TIA Dave

not sure what to do about your problem, but do have a word (or two) of advice.. stop using textmask.. 2k5 has a new feature, background mask (far better than textmask).. you should look into it.

What makes background mask so much better than textmask? first and foremost, background mask is part of the text rather than a separate entity that you need to keep track of. second, background mask is also built into your dim style (so if you turn it on, it will always be there. you won't need to worry about it). granted background mask can't be used on dtext, but that is easily solved by not using dtext.

Seems to work well. Thanks for the tip. A couple of questions -Can you set it on all the time or do you have to set it each time you start mtext -I can't seem to mask existing dimensions .. is this possible? For the dimensions, the masking can be applied within the Dimstyle under the TEXT tab (click on the Fill Color pulldown list and select background) and ALL of your associative dims will automatically update with a background mask.

If you only want to mask a handful of assoc. dims, select the desired dims and start the PROPERTIES manager, and under the TEXT category, click on the Fill Color pulldown list and select background.

What about just text, not dim. Is there a place to set it on at all times or do you have to set it each time you start mtext?
