my Autocad 2000

Can anyone help me with this issue. I bought autoCAD 2000 simply becuase I was told it would never be obsolete. I am trying to open Autocad 2010-09 drawings and they are incompatible so my software says. Any suggestions.

I am attaching the drawing I can not open

Search these forums (newer ones) for the link to the free conversion program autodesk offers...

Your copy of AutoCAD2000 is not obsolete.

You are trying to open a newer version of software with it.

I would bet that the software is 'backwards compatible'.

That means that you can open older versions with the new ones, but not the other way around.

We use DWGateway conversion software.

So far, it has been a good solution to the new software versions.

Best of luck. DennyMac
